You don’t need to be a Scuba Diver to get to know the fascinating world underwater and its splendor. Equipped with mask, snorkel and fins you float on the surface and watch the vibrant coral reefs, rocks and coral fishes below. An intense experience and unforgettable moments.
Nilaveli Snorkeling at the famous Pigeon Island Marine Park is the absolute highlight at your stay at the Nilaveli beach. We provide daily snorkeling trips from our NILAVELI DIVING CENTRE to the PIGEON ISLANDS within a boat ride of around 20 minutes and a duration of around 2 hours snorkeling from the shore around the island. Around the Pigeon Island there are a lot of hard corals and you can see a lot of different coral fish of the Indian Ocean, sometime turtles and mostly also Black Tip Reef Sharks in the shallow water. We provide all necessary snorkeling gear (mask, snorkel, fins) on request. The total snorkeling trip from our NILAVELI DIVING CENTRE takes around 3 hours in total. Please note that prices exclude the entrance ticket to Pigeon Island National Park of 40 Euros/per person. (updated since 2022)

Pigeon Island
In the area of Pigeon Island, 1 km from the diving base, you’ll see colorful corals, Eels, small groups of different fish or colorful drawn Boxfish. Let yourself drift while iridescent Parrot Fish and Damselfish pass slowly. Filigree Lined Sweetlips Fish standing elegantly in the flow, Butterfly Fish and Banner fish dancing before the dark blue curtain of the sea. With some luck you have encounters with turtles, various species of ray or even Blacktip Reef Sharks there.

Nilaveli : Our boats depart from the Nilaveli Diving Centre at 14.00 h, check-in 13.30 h at our Diving Centre.

Price
From 27 Euros per person (p.p.) to 35 Euros p.p., depending on the number of participants. Max. 6 snorkelers per boat. 5 Euros extra if snorkelling equipment is required. Minimum age is 5 years. Children under 5 are free, and from 5- 12 applies the half price . Entrance fees in the Pigeon Island National Marine Park are around 40 Euros p.p., depending on the number of participants.
